Hall Bazaar · Amritsar · Punjab
Hotel Sawera Grand is a 3-star hotel in the heart of old Amritsar — close enough to walk to Sri Harmandir Sahib before sunrise, comfortable enough that you will want to come back to it afterwards.

Welcome to Sawera Grand
Sawera means daybreak. It is the right name for a hotel whose guests are usually up before the sun, walking the short lane from Hall Bazaar to the Golden Temple for the first darshan of the day.
Since 2014 we have looked after pilgrims, families, honeymooners and business travellers in the middle of Amritsar's busiest, most historic quarter. Our rooms are air-conditioned and genuinely quiet for this address. Our restaurant is vegetarian-led and open to residents and visitors alike. And our front desk is staffed through the night, because a 4 a.m. arrival should never mean a locked door.
Rooms & Suites
Every room is air-conditioned, Wi-Fi enabled and serviced daily, with a private bathroom, refrigerator and minibar as standard. Choose by how much space you want around you.
A calm, well-made room a minute from the Golden Temple, with a proper desk to work from.
More floor, more light and a proper seating corner — our choice for longer stays.

The Neighbourhood
Hall Bazaar is the historic centre of the walled city. From our lobby, most of what visitors come to Amritsar for is reachable on foot — the rest is a short drive our travel desk will arrange.
1-minute walk
Step out of the lobby, cross Hall Bazaar and you are at the Sri Harmandir Sahib entrance — close enough for 4 a.m. darshan without a rickshaw.
Directly opposite
The 1919 memorial garden sits immediately across from the hotel. The bullet-marked wall and Martyrs' Well are a two-minute stroll.
5-minute walk
Housed in Amritsar's Town Hall, the world's first Partition Museum is an easy walk from the front desk.

Roughly a one-minute walk — about 150 metres. Hotel Sawera Grand sits in Katra Baghian, Hall Bazaar, which opens directly onto the Golden Temple precinct. You can leave your room, walk to Sri Harmandir Sahib and be back for breakfast. There is no need for a rickshaw, an auto or a car.
Yes — it is directly opposite the hotel. The Jallianwala Bagh memorial garden, the bullet-marked wall and the Martyrs' Well are a two-minute walk from reception. The Partition Museum in the Town Hall is roughly five minutes on foot.
Standard check-in is from 12:00 noon and check-out is by 11:00 a.m. Because so many of our guests arrive on overnight trains or for 4 a.m. darshan, our front desk is staffed 24 hours and we will hold your luggage, arrange early check-in or extend check-out whenever occupancy allows. Call +91 85588 33449 and simply ask.
Amritsar Junction railway station is 3 km away — about a 15-minute drive. Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport (ATQ) is 12 km, roughly 30 minutes. The inter-state bus stand is 1 km, about 5 minutes. Our travel desk can arrange a pre-booked pick-up for any of the three.
Six categories. The Business Room is the one most guests take — a king bed and a proper desk, a minute from the Golden Temple. The Business Room with Balcony adds a private balcony over the old city. At the top is the K L Suite, with a quilted headboard wall, a full wall of glass and the widest view in the building. Every room is air-conditioned with free Wi-Fi, a private bathroom, a refrigerator and a minibar.
Yes. Sakun, our multi-cuisine restaurant, serves buffet breakfast, à la carte lunch and dinner, with Punjabi, Chinese and Continental dishes. House favourites include the Veg Sawera Grand Grilled Sandwich, the Chicken Sawera Grand Grilled Sandwich and, of course, a proper Amritsari kulcha. Room service runs through the day.
Yes — on-site parking is available for resident guests, which matters enormously in Hall Bazaar where street parking is effectively impossible. Please tell us at the time of booking if you are driving in, so we can keep a space.
Yes. The Angels banquet hall comfortably seats 50 to 100 guests, with audiovisual equipment, high-speed internet and customisable lighting. Our kitchen handles Punjabi, Chinese and Continental menus. Write to sales@hotelsaweragrand.com for a date hold and a quotation.
