Rooftop dining at Hotel Sawera Grand, Amritsar

Dining & Banquets

Sakun, our rooftop restaurant, and Angels, our banquet hall — both a minute from the Golden Temple.

The dining room at Sakun, Hotel Sawera Grand, Amritsar

Sakun · The Rooftop Restaurant

The best rooftop table in Hall Bazaar

Sakun sits on the top floor of Sawera Tower, open to the sky and the Amritsar skyline. Dining here is a different experience from the street below: the noise of the bazaar falls away, the evening air cools, and the city settles.

The kitchen is multi-cuisine and vegetarian-led — Punjabi, Chinese and Continental, prepared with good ingredients and without shortcuts. Breakfast is a buffet, timed early for guests coming back from the first darshan. Lunch and dinner are à la carte. In-room dining runs from the same kitchen through the day.

  • Open to resident guests and visitors
  • Buffet breakfast, à la carte lunch and dinner
  • Punjabi · Chinese · Continental · Amritsari specialities
  • Private rooftop seating for small celebrations

Angels · Banquet Hall

A hall for 50 to 100 in the centre of the city

Angels is our banquet hall — contemporary, elegantly finished, and sized for the gatherings that actually happen: a roka, a birthday, a corporate offsite, a post-wedding lunch for the family that travelled in.

  • Seats 50–100 guests depending on layout
  • Audiovisual equipment and customisable lighting
  • High-speed internet for presentations and conferences
  • Bespoke Punjabi, Chinese and Continental catering menus
  • Guest rooms in the same building for out-of-town family

Dining & event questions

Before you book a table or hold a date.

The kitchen is vegetarian-led, in keeping with the sensibilities of a hotel this close to Sri Harmandir Sahib, with a small number of chicken preparations also on the menu. If you are travelling with strict dietary requirements — Jain, satvik, no onion-garlic — tell the front desk when you book and the kitchen will accommodate you.

Buffet breakfast is served every morning and is timed deliberately early for guests returning from the first darshan at the Golden Temple. Exact timings shift slightly by season — confirm with the front desk on +91 85588 33449 the evening before.

Yes. Sakun is open to visitors as well as residents. It is one of the better rooftop dining rooms in the Hall Bazaar area, and walk-ins are welcome, though a quick call ahead is wise on weekends and during the wedding season.

Yes — in-room dining runs through the day and late into the evening, from the same Sakun kitchen. Dial the intercom from your room.

Between 50 and 100 guests comfortably, depending on the seating layout. The hall has audiovisual equipment, high-speed internet and customisable lighting, and the kitchen builds bespoke Punjabi, Chinese and Continental menus around your event. Write to sales@hotelsaweragrand.com.
