About Hotel Sawera Grand
A 3-star hotel built in 2014 in Sawera Tower, Hall Bazaar — one minute from Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Our Story
Built in 2014, in the busiest lane in Amritsar
Hall Bazaar has been the commercial spine of walled Amritsar for well over a century. It is loud, close, and utterly alive. Building a calm hotel in the middle of it was the whole idea.
Hotel Sawera Grand opened its doors in 2014 in Sawera Tower, on Katra Baghian, opposite Sawera Travels. The family behind it had spent years moving travellers around Punjab — airport runs, Wagah Border trips, pilgrimage circuits — and knew exactly what those travellers wished hotels would get right: a short walk to the Temple, a door that opens at any hour, air conditioning that works in June, hot water that works in January, and food that does not require leaving the building after a sixteen-hour day.
A decade on, that is still the brief. Three-star, thirty-odd keys, one rooftop restaurant, one banquet hall, and a front desk that treats a 4 a.m. arrival as entirely ordinary.

Hospitality Philosophy
Three things we refuse to get wrong
Everything else at Hotel Sawera Grand is negotiable. These are not.
Quality you can feel at 4 a.m.
Standards do not run on office hours. The desk is staffed, the lift runs, the water is hot and the kitchen can be woken. A hotel is only as good as its worst hour.
Comfort before decoration
Good mattresses, blackout curtains, air conditioning that actually cools, and bathrooms cleaned to a standard you would accept at home. Gold fittings are lovely; a quiet, cool room is better.
People, not scripts
Our team is small enough that you will recognise faces by day two. Ask them where to eat, when to go for darshan, how to get to Wagah — they live here, and they will tell you honestly.

The Address
Why Hall Bazaar changes your trip
Hotels on the ring road are cheaper to build and easier to park at. They also cost you two hours a day in traffic and an auto fare every time the Temple calls you back.
From Hotel Sawera Grand you walk. To Sri Harmandir Sahib in a minute. To Jallianwala Bagh in two. To the Partition Museum in five. To the Sikh Museum, the kulcha shops, the phulkari stalls and the jalebi-wala, in whatever order the evening suggests. Guests routinely visit the Temple three or four times in a two-night stay — at dawn, at dusk, and again for the Palki Sahib ceremony — simply because it is possible.

Frequently Asked
About the hotel
The background questions guests and event planners ask us.
Hotel Sawera Grand opened in 2014 in Sawera Tower, Katra Baghian, Hall Bazaar. It is a 3-star property run by the same family-led team that operates Sawera Travels, which is why our travel desk is unusually capable for a hotel of this size.
Four groups, mostly: pilgrims visiting Sri Harmandir Sahib, families on a Punjab circuit, corporate travellers working in Amritsar, and wedding parties using the Angels banquet hall. The hotel is designed around all four — which is why you will find both a 24-hour front desk and a proper business centre.
Yes, and this is something we take seriously. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, the lift runs through the night, tea can be arranged before dawn and we will hold luggage at either end of your stay. Guests arriving on the 4 a.m. train are the normal case here, not the exception.
